Building in the open

Open metrics.

WeDance is built in the open — the code is public, and so are the numbers. Here are our real usage figures, small as they are. No vanity stats, no rounding up.

What’s on the dashboard.

  • Active users

Distinct people using WeDance per day and per week.

  • New vs returning

How many visitors are here for the first time, and how many come back.

  • Sign-up funnel

Visit → sign-up → finished onboarding → first event added to a plan. Where people drop off.

  • Sign-ups & logins

Counted on the server, so ad blockers don’t hide them.

  • Events by organisers

Events created and published by organisers on WeDance.

  • Ticket intent

Clicks on a ticket button, and how many of those start a checkout.

  • Core engagement

Event views, plan adds, follows, hangout RSVPs and searches.

  • Page speed

Largest Contentful Paint at the 75th percentile. Good is under 2.5 s.

  • Visitors by section

Which parts of the site people use: cities, festivals, artists, profiles and more.

What we track, and what we don’t.

We track
  • Product analytics with PostHog, hosted in the EU.
  • Session replay, so we can see where a screen confuses people. Form inputs are masked.
  • Sign-ups, logins and other conversions are also counted on our server, so ad blockers don’t skew them.
We don’t send
  • Your name or email — analytics only ever sees an anonymous account id.
  • What you search for — we record only how long the query was, never the text.
  • Other sites — the dashboard only counts traffic on 2026.wedance.vip.

The details are in our privacy policy.
